Not only has membership in the European Union expanded the sources of law, but the prevailing trend in the evolution of Western societies is toward enhanced protection of fundamental rights, as well as increased safeguards for workers and consumers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This development has also been reflected in the evolution of case law, both in Italy and abroad, which increasingly imposes higher standards of care and diligence on entrepreneurs.
